Program Overview
Program Goal
The exploratory program students will begin their journey learning the basic fundamentals of electrical installations while identifying the various career opportunities available to them in the electrical industry, and the tasks performed in each. They will learn about the hand/power tools used in the trade and how to safely use them through hands-on projects. Continuing their journey, the Electrical I students will refine their skills at using tools to install boxes, pull and support wire, install devices, and test and troubleshoot circuits in accordance with the National Electrical Code. They will be introduced to cables, conduit, and materials used in the Commercial and Industrial category. As students advance into the next year, they will begin to learn about Motor Controls and continue to build their skills and knowledge. At the end of their journey, students will have refined their skills and enhanced their knowledge, preparing them to enter the workforce for success with a solid background in the basic electrical practices and principles.
