On Wednesday, May 13th, 2026, Delsea Regional High School creative writing students Kaitlynn Baez, Alisia Hannum, Keirsten Hughes, Giana Johnson, and Keira McQuaid interviewed Vincent Cervini about his current internship with Cervini’s Auto Designs. Cervini’s Auto Designs is a family-run business specializing in aftermarket auto parts. For over 35 years, Cervini’s Auto Designs has provided the public with top-of-the-line parts for Ford, Dodge, GMC, and more at affordable prices.
The Interview
Doing an internship gives students a head start, experiencing different skills and career fields they might not have been interested in before. Additionally, internships can give students some insight into what they might want to do after high school.
KB: What brought you to work at Cervini’s Auto? Is this an industry you want to stay in?
VC: Growing up, my family has always been very into the automotive industry. My dad has always been really interested in cars, trucks, and everything automotive. I started working at Cervini’s Auto because I want to continue there. That's why Mr. Daigle came in and started working with me, because I see a future with it, specifically with the promotion, social media, and marketing side.
KB: Was this internship a good opportunity to get your foot in the door and test out the waters?
VC: Yes, I get a lot of firsthand hands-on experience working directly with the business. I see how the business operates and have learned how important time management is and how every detail matters.
KB: How has this internship affected your daily life outside of work, and what's the most important part of starting your day off on the right foot?
VC: It fits right into my daily schedule. I leave school at 11:30 and head right to my internship. I made the daily habit of always having a positive attitude going in every day. I always start off my day by answering customers truthfully and to the best of my abilities.
KH: What tasks do you complete each day?
VC: Every day, I answer customers through Meta and help them with any questions or concerns they have. Some other tasks I have completed are updating the website and making sure lead times and prices are up to date.
KH: What has been your most memorable experience working for your internship and why?
VC: My most memorable moment was making my first car hood sale during my second week working there. This was a big moment for me because I learned the correct and most professional way to talk to people.
KM: What is the biggest lesson you have learned from your internship experience?
VC: The biggest lesson I learned came with my communication skills. I not only work by myself, but I also work with my manager, Jim. At least three days a week, he’s there walking me through to collaborate, accomplish goals, and speak to customers. I make sure their questions are answered truthfully and that they are satisfied with their services.
KM: Are you looking to continue working in this field, or will you take what you’ve learned and branch out to something new?
VC: In the future, I would like to branch out within the company, possibly creating a new product or working towards company expansion. However, for right now, my main focus is on the marketing side with social media and customer service.
AH: What have you learned most from your interactions with customers?
VC: The most valuable lesson I've learned from talking to customers is answering with honesty and not ending the conversation until they're satisfied to ensure all their questions are answered, and they are taken care of.
AH: What has been the biggest challenge of your internship? How have you navigated it?
VC: My biggest challenge would definitely be when I first started working with our manager because I was afraid to make mistakes or ask a lot of questions. I navigated this challenge by realizing that, over time, he won't be upset with me if I make mistakes; he's there to help guide me in the right direction and teach me the skills he has learned.
GJ: Why would you recommend doing an internship to current Delsea seniors looking to gain the valuable skills you have learned?
VC: Doing an internship gives students a head start, experiencing different skills and career fields they might not have been interested in before. Additionally, internships can give students some insight into what they might want to do after high school.
GJ: If you could do this experience all over again, what is something you would change about your experience?
VC: If I could do it over again, I would’ve started my focus on social media earlier in my internship, since it’s a very crucial part of our business. Moreover, I would’ve liked to start my internship earlier so I could’ve gotten more time and experience under my belt since it’s likely what I will continue to do in the future.
